National Wildlife Federation teams up with LG Electronics (LG) for an ongoing campaign to highlight vulnerable and endangered species.

In December, LG featured the Red Wolf, the most endangered wolf in the world, as the fourth animal in the campaign series with NWF.

The Red Wolf is protected by the Endangered Species Act and has been designated by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as a critically endangered species, and their population in the wild is perilously low.

Red Wolves can be found in the wild in North Carolina only. Gray Wolves, another imperiled wolf species and the largest living canine species, also lives in the U.S.

However, their range is much broader with populations in Alaska, several states in the northern U.S., along with a subspecies, the Mexican Gray Wolf, with a small population in the southwest U.S.

Red Wolves are facing multiple threats to the survival of the species, including habitat loss, hybridization with coyotes, and human-caused mortality events, such as gunshots and vehicle strikes.
